About PURE JOY!
Hello my name is Sandy Jacobson and I want to share how PURE JOY started. In 2006 my husband and I faced the toughest challenge in our lives. Our whole world changed, it was a very dark time. Sounds Joyful huh. The Lord started waking me up in the night with all these things about Pure Joy: songs, skits & videos.
How many of you know God has a sense of humor? I am not a singer or someone who is into theater or artsy stuff. I am a cowgirl who loves to be outside. So I am asking God what is all this about. HE replied, "Just keep writing things down in time and it will make sense". One day I was walking with my prayer partner and chatting and she says, "Wouldn't it be cool to have PJ party @ church with all the ladies older & younger?" I was like, yes and I know what PJ stands for...Penny says, "Duh... pajamas." No PURE JOY! I began to share about what the Lord was showing me. As I'm writing this I'm realizing how crazy it all sounds. We prayed about it and decided to present the idea to our church staff. At our meeting they really didn't tell us no but they didn't have the same vision we were feeling. As we came out Penny and I both agreed we had to do it even though it wasn't going to go through our church. Little did we know what God was up to. We wanted it to be non-denominational & full of fun and laughter.
So many women think Christians can't have fun. We knew we needed a team, so we prayed for 2 days and came together with our lists of 12 people. Guess what? Yes exactly the same 12 people. Some of the ladies we didn't even know. We called and asked them to meet us. They all came and we began to tell the vision the Lord gave us. I wish I would have had a picture of their faces. Priceless. They were all in. Creative juices began to flow. It was amazing how each gal was a piece of HIS puzzle to carry out things. I felt like the Lord had given me a date but it was only 6 weeks away. One of girls suggested we contact the High School to see if they would rent to us. Guess what the only date they had on Saturday, May 5th? Yes HIS date He had given to us. With no money, no experience, no qualifications just a team that believed in fasting and prayer and God was who HE says HE is. Things began to fall into place, God equips those HE calls. I want to say don't let anyone or anything cheat you of fulfilling the dreams in your heart. If He can use 2 girls in pjs He will use you.
The day of the event I remember talking to Penny, "I hope at least 50 people come". I had a much bigger vision, but thought what if no one comes? That night as we are standing in back waiting to take our turn jumping on mini tramp to get on stage. We looked at a full auditorium of around 500 women and both began crying and thanking God for the MIGHTY SAVIOR HE IS and all those who were crazy enough to believe with us. It was a night full of laughter till we cried, relating to each other that we are not alone whatever we are going through (testimonies) and amazing worship. I will never forget singing Amazing Grace and the power of unity as sisters in Christ!! To God be all the Glory.
PURE JOY BOLIVAR is the eighth one God has orchestrated. I pray you will be able to come. It will be a night you won't want to miss. Lots of LAUGHTER & FUN!!

This will be my first event to attend and I am looking forward to it.
I have been to one Pure Joy event. I had no idea what to expect. It was a night of laughter and tears with my sisters. We (I) don’t laugh enough these days. It was refreshing. It was a reminder to me that no matter what our stuggles are…..we not only have the Lord but our sisters in Him to get us through and that is what life is about…….going through. I am forever grateful to Him and my sisters. Hope to see you there.

This will be my 2nd pure joy event, and I’m looking forward to what God has planned! My teenage daughter and I attended Pure Joy Branson and we both laughed until we cried, so no matter what age, you are sure to have fun and be blessed! So if you are wondering whether to go…GO!
I went to my first Pure Joy event this past Spring 2010. I was invited by an incredible lady “Michelle”. I had not been to any of them before. It was so incredibly uplifting. It was an awesome time of laughter, rejoicing, and fellowship…God was definately THERE ! It was very rejuvenating and purposeful. Plan to go to Springfield’s. Can’t wait to see what he has in store for us this time ! Lisa Hickman
I am so excited to get to come to another Pure Joy event…at last year’s party, I laughed and cried, I sang and danced, I hugged people I didn’t even know, and through it all, God was right there..I could feel His presence all around! And with every speaker that shared her testimony, there was something in what she had to say that I could relate to…it was a beautiful night, and I am so excited that Sandy and Penny and the rest of the planning committee is doing it AGAIN, and AGAIN!!! Thank you girls…you really are a blessing to so many! Praying for you all as you get ready for another life-changing night! See you there!
What a FUN night! So meaningful, too. When you walk in, you can tell there is something different about that place… the Lord is THERE! I think mainly b/c so many women have prayed about and prepared for this. The Lord is present and ready to love on women and change lives! I remember singing, “Chains be broken, lives be healed, eyes be opened, Christ is revealed.” That was our theme for the night, and we heard so many stories of women who had some serious life change b/c of what the Lord did that evening. The glory is ALL to Him. Go to Pure Joy! Bring friends – it’s a totally open and inviting atmosphere! Can’t wait til the next one!
I attended Pure Joy in 2010, my first time attending such an event. My sister and I laughed until tears rolled down our cheeks and our cheeks ached. We also sang, hugged, prayed and were uplifted for days after! I look forward to more girl time with my Lord and my sisters in Christ!
You don’t want to miss out!
Last year a few ladies from our church Bridge of Faith in Rockaway Beach loaded up for the night to attend Pure Joy. It was not only a learning experience in my personal life, but very entertaining!! As I sat in the audience observing all the women there for many different reasons. I was more focused on what I was going to get out of it. That night, I left there with room to grow in my personal life. One year ago this 2011 and cannot wait to see what God has in store for this night. Thank you for the Lord using this night to reach other women to let go & let Gods will work in their lives.
